Twelve year old Zabibu was orphaned when her parents were both killed by neighbours, who suspected they had been practicing witchcraft. Zabibu and her siblings were then brought to the orphanage.
Zabibu is a sweet girl who is doing well in school. She would like to be a teacher, and dreams of one day visiting Europe. Zawadi needs a sponsor in order to remain in school. Only $500 a year will pay for her school fees, and give her a chance for a better future. George's mother was raising George and his siblings alone. She brought her children to visit her brother because they had no food, and were struggling. Soon after their arrival, his mother died suddenly. The children were then brought to the orphanage.
