Our Program in Thailand
Thailand has one of the highest prevalence of HIV/AIDS in Asia. Children affected by HIV/AIDS often live in poverty, and are stigmatized because of their HIV positive status. Many live in institutions because their parents are too ill to take care of them, or because their parents have died. The Children's Bridge Foundation works with the Agape Home in Chiang Mai. Many of the children who come to the Agape Home to live are, or are at risk of being, HIV positive. Many of them have already lost their parents to AIDS, and there are no other options for their care. The home provides care for over 100 children, aged between 1-21 years.
The Children's Bridge Foundation supports ten of the children living at the Agape home by ensuring that their educational needs are met. We cover school fees as well as the cost of uniforms and books for these children. This will give them the opportunity to live a full and productive life.
